RCI 0163 1/2 in. Rim

The dormakaba RCI 0163 is a 1/2 in. (13 mm) rim electric strike: a surface-mounted solenoid strike designed to work with Pullman style rim exit device latches. It is designed for tight situations where the exit device is mounted very close to the door frame, for example aluminum storefront applications.

Fit and adjustment: the strike accommodates 1/2 in. (13 mm) latch projection. For maximum latch engagement the keeper pivots out of the strike body rather than rolling out. Horizontal adjustment of up to 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) compensates for door misalignment, and a shim may be added to the strike cavity to engage a misaligned deadlatch. Lockdown holes give a secure mount, the strike is non-handed and uses plug-in wire connectors.

Strength and power: 1,500 lbf (6,672 N) static and 70 ft-lb (95 J) dynamic strength, 500,000 cycles, fail-secure (the strike stays locked when power is removed). It runs cool to the touch, so no suppressor kit is needed, and draws 270 mA at 12 VDC on 11 to 16 VAC, 12 VAC/VDC or 24 VAC/VDC. The high-grade stainless steel body is UL 294 (Underwriters Laboratories) listed as an access control unit accessory and UL 1034 burglary-resistant listed. An optional latch monitor model is available, and the strike carries a 10 year limited warranty.
