Monitor employee movement

Before beginning their shifts, employees must validate their keycards on Saflok Secure Shift to obtain authorization. Employee keycards are inoperable unless authorized by Saflok Secure Shift. Managers get a log of employee attendance, and an added layer of security prevents absent or off-duty employees from misusing their keycard access. A Saflok Secure Shift unit can also be used in a parking garage together with another common area lock. For example, the unit can be placed in the employee section of a parking garage or in a gatehouse or guardhouse, and employees could be required to reauthorize their keycards before they enter the hotel building to begin their shift.

Respond proactively to potential lock issues

Hotel managers can program Saflok Secure Shift to retrieve data and lock reports using smart and memory cards. For example, low battery warnings from the locks are recorded on the cards, so managers can request reports on all locks with a low battery indication. This kind of preventive maintenance increases productivity and saves money.

Address lost-key concerns

Saflok Secure Shift helps ease concerns over lost keys. If an employee's timed-out key is found, it does not work unless a Saflok Secure Shift unit reauthorizes it. This is especially useful if a master key is lost: the master key requires validation at a Saflok Secure Shift station before it can be used, which guards against misuse outside its intended time frame.
