Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG Hallstadt
Access and attendance recording directly controlled in SAP HCM.
Sandro Richter - Project manager for the worldwide rollout of the system
“The solution worked well for us because it uses the Organisation Management module in SAP. This way we have everything in our system and can do away with interfaces and subsystems. Managing access permissions is easier than in our previous decentralised system.”

The customer’s requirement for dormakaba
Central system for attendance and access recording
Global partner
dormakaba’s solution
Because Brose is heavily reliant on SAP, dormakaba suggested using EACM (Enterprise Access Control Management) as a standard solution. This is a new solution fully integrated in SAP and Organisation Management (OM). The centralised SAP database is used for managing EACM master data for personnel. If the access permissions change, they are updated in a matter of seconds in every access manager in every office and at every location worldwide.
The Brose employees record their working hours at dormakaba terminals 9700 and 9600, at which they can also check their current personal time accounts. The SAP standard module “Personnel Time Management” reads all the booking data recorded at the terminals and automatically calculates the different hours for every employee using an individual time model. The entire process of attendance recording and management as well payroll accounting is therefore integrated in SAP.
The decision to use EACM started an extensive, worldwide project. Every location was secured according to the central specifications and security standards; for example, the exterior with turnstiles and online readers. On the inside, online readers protect IT server rooms, offices, data processing centres, production and development areas as well as laboratories against unauthorised access. For server rooms, two-factor identification is used with PIN input. Attendance recording terminals are installed at the entrance and production areas, which the employees use to record their working hours. The access components and the attendance recording terminals communicate directly via http(s) with the SAP solution.
