Confidant

dormakaba Confidant is an electronic hotel room door lock that combines a timeless, sleek design with access technology to improve the guest experience and streamline hotel operations. Confidant supports RFID credentials and mobile access over Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), for secure, contactless access across hotels of all sizes and building types. The lock also offers near field communication (NFC) programming.

Installation: Confidant suits both new builds and retrofit projects. The lock is available with or without a mortise lock and is compatible with dormakaba and third-party mortise locks.

Software and mobile access: Confidant works standalone or as part of an online access control system with dormakaba Ambiance software, with the Ambiance RX online solution optionally available. The BLE-capable lock operates with dormakaba Mobile Access Solutions, so guests can use their mobile devices as their room key.

The Confidant door lock has a robust design for low maintenance, high reliability and precision technology.

  • Cover: glossy black polycarbonate
  • Concealed battery panel (3 alkaline AA batteries) and programming interface
  • Levers: various designs; outside lever rotates freely in locked mode
  • Privacy options, depending on model
  • Door thickness: 1 1/4 in. to 2 1/2 in. (32 mm to 64 mm)
  • Emergency opening: emergency cards or mechanical key override (MKO)

ANSI locking devices

  • Standard backset: 2 3/4 in. (70 mm) for mortise and tubular latch; 2 3/8 in. (60 mm) for tubular latch only
  • High-security 1 in. (25 mm) deadbolt, projected by inside thumbturn and retracted by interior handle or keycard; optional auto deadbolt

EURO locking devices

  • Backsets: 55, 60, 65, 70 and 80 mm
  • Optional 20 or 24 mm rounded forend plates
  • Optional 8 or 9 mm spindle
