BlueSky Access

BlueSky Access is the dormakaba BlueSky app: a ready-to-use mobile key app for iOS and Android smart devices, for operators with limited resources to develop an app or who want to evaluate the dormakaba mobile access solution. BlueSky Access can be deployed across any property to simplify the guest experience and streamline hotel operations.

How it works: Once guests download the BlueSky app, they receive their room key on their smart device and can bypass the front desk on arrival. Ilco and Saflok Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enabled radio frequency identification (RFID) locks allow access when an authorized user places a mobile device with the BlueSky app near the RFID reader.

Security and audit: The BLE module reads the BlueSky access key, communicates with the property management network and checks whether the unique, encrypted code from the mobile device is on an approved pass list. Once confirmed, access is allowed and the event is recorded for audit purposes.
