Keyscan Peripheral Products

Keyscan peripheral products are dormakaba expansion boards, power supplies and communication modules designed to operate with Keyscan door and elevator floor access control units (ACUs). They extend Keyscan access control systems with additional input and output capability, power and network connectivity.

These expansions improve monitoring and support auxiliary security systems such as motion detectors, glass breaks and exit-only door sensors. Other peripherals overcome limitations, such as communication signal extenders for greater distance between access control units and readers, and the Keyscan NETCOM TCP/IP modules that connect panels to a LAN/WAN network.

The range includes the IOCB1616 input/output board, OCB8 relay board, WIEEX2 Wiegand extender, DPS-15 power supply, CIM (Communication Interlink Module), CIM-Link, NETCOM2 and NETCOM2P.

  • IOCB1616: 16 supervised inputs and 16 open collector outputs per board, up to 4 boards per ACU
  • OCB8: form C relay outputs for additional doors, elevator floor stops or alarm triggers

CIM (Communication Interlink Module)

  • The CIM is a communication control module that uses a CAN Bus communication network. It provides optimized server-to-access control unit (ACU) communication and creates an inter-panel ACU-to-ACU network for global functions including anti-passback, global input/output and global time zones. The CIM adds ground loop protection, enhanced diagnostics and improved speed.
  • Provides optimized server-to-ACU communication
  • Gives users an ACU-to-ACU network for inter-panel communication and global functions
  • Standardized cabling: communication links use the CAN Bus protocol over standard CAT5 cabling
  • Ground loop tolerance: maximizes electrical isolation to earth ground
  • Fault tolerance: if one CIM fails it does not take the loop down; the CAN Bus protocol keeps the remaining devices on the network communicating
  • Optimized communication speeds, up to 115 kbps
  • Enhanced diagnostics for quick troubleshooting
  • Auto bit rate configuration automatically matches the bit rate to the control unit configuration
  • Supports the Keyscan plug-on TCP/IP network adapter NETCOM2P/6P
