Comprehensive expertise and smart access solutions from a single source allow efficient people flow.

Aging infrastructure made the modernization of the De Braak sports centre essential. The architects needed to balance diverse, sometimes conflicting, tenant requirements while optimizing available spaces and facilities.

Working together, the team developed scenarios for the desired use. What level of security and comfort was needed? Which spaces should be accessible as standard, and which should not? Accessibility regulations were also incorporated at this stage.

dormakaba used solutions and smart tools such as EntriWorX to help the team plan the door systems. All of dormakaba’s proposed solutions were implemented.

Built-in solutions like the ITS 96 door closer combine vandalism resistance with clean aesthetics. The hardware selection balances visual appeal with the durability required of the intensive use at a sports facility. Electronic and mechanical locking solutions were deployed based on usage patterns – electronic access control where user changes are frequent, mechanical systems where user patterns remain stable.

In places where access serves as the calling card, the architects deliberately chose sliding doors to welcome users in a transparent, hospitable manner. This ensures that access to De Braak remains transparent and inviting for everyone.
