dormakaba MotionIQ optimizes the control of automatic sliding door operators and can be used for new as well as existing systems.* The MotionIQ continuously monitors a wide detection area in front of the door, analysing movement patterns in real time. By calculating each person’s movement vector, the system determines the ideal moment to open the door and sets a customized hold-open time for each passage. This intelligent control drastically reduces unnecessary open times, minimizing energy loss and avoiding false openings caused by people merely standing nearby. The adaptive hold-open time can save up to 50% energy and help cut CO₂ emissions significantly. Fewer unnecessary openings also mean less wear and tear, resulting in a longer service life for the door system and greater overall sustainability. Technical Details

MotionIQ is compatible with both, new installations and retrofit projects for ES PROLINE FST sliding operator systems.
It consists of two components and builds one intelligent system:

MA01 Radar Sensor detects real-time movement in front of the door, capturing distance, speed, and angle for up to two objects simultaneously. This dynamic data ensures doors respond only when necessary.

ES PRO MotionIQ Controller with CAN Board processes motion signals from the radar sensor, analyzes movement patterns, and identifies intent to pass through. The system then calculates and sets optimal door opening and hold-open times, adapting automatically to each scenario.

Components

Motionsensor M A01
The M A01 radar sensor can be used for 1 and 2-leaf door systems.
Can be used indoors and outdoors. The mounting position is centered above the door system.

ES PRO MotionIQ controller connects directly to the ES PROLINE control unit and provides the interface for the MA01 radar sensor. Other components—like emergency stop switches or additional sensors—continue to connect as usual to the ES PROLINE system.
Configuration is done via the standard ES PROLINE user interface, and an RGB LED clearly indicates operating status and any system issues.
