DORMA's contribution to the project
Designed by architecture firm Lord Aeck Sargent, the building used locally harvested materials and numerous energy and water saving strategies that exemplify the environmental responsibility taught inside. The architect’s LEED-friendly daylighting practices led to the extensive use of glass, which infused the building’s public spaces with natural light.
The architectural hardware throughout needed to complement rather than detract from the glass. Products from DORMA Architectural Hardware delivered the ideal balance of performance and design.
The architect chose a satin nickel finish on exposed hardware components for a modern look. On exit devices, a durable satin stainless steel finish was covered with clear powder coat to create a look nearly identical to the satin nickel finish—all while keeping costs down.
