Last week, dormakaba proudly joined the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia (MLAA) 2024 National Conference at The Stamford Glenelg in Adelaide, South Australia. This highly anticipated annual event gathered over 300 locksmith professionals from across Australia and New Zealand, offering them a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and explore new advancements in locksmithing and security.
Innovative products on display
As an exhibitor, dormakaba took the opportunity to showcase a range of innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the locksmith industry. Our stand featured our versatile TS 98 XEA door closer, which captivated attendees with its adaptable design and wide range of colour options. Locksmiths and industry experts were also able to experience our latest electromechanical locking hardware and cutting-edge access control solutions.
Engagement and excitement: mini putt-putt challenge and prizes
To add a touch of fun to the serious business of security, we hosted a mini putt-putt challenge on our stand. Participants who achieved a hole-in-one were entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of three IP9 start-up dealerships, valued at $2,000 each. We congratulate our lucky winners—Seb Plant from John Barnes Locksmiths in Queensland, Daniel Mackenzie from Nelson Bay Locksmiths in New South Wales, and Steve Calligaris from Rite Price Locksmiths in South Australia—who took home these dealership prizes, with a combined total value of $6,000.
Looking forward to new product launches in 2025
With an eye toward the future, dormakaba generated excitement by previewing products scheduled for launch in April 2025. Attendees expressed keen interest in our new electronic key system, Skyra, which is specifically designed for critical infrastructure applications. In addition, our upcoming K95 patented reversible expert system and the design-registered IP9 in-line keying system—protected until 2043 and 2034, respectively—drew much attention.
