The user-friendly solution for time registration, shop floor data collection, and access control is certified for use with SAP HR-PDC and PP-PDC interfaces and relieves the parent SAP system of important tasks and functions. The data collected are checked against SAP standards and passed on.

Integration concept for SAP ERP

  • The master data are only maintained in a single place – in the SAP ERP system.
  • Via a secure download, dormakaba b-comm ERP 5 – SAP ERP receives all relevant loaded master data from SAP that are necessary to ensure solution-compliant validation of the data collected. The data are collected and checked for plausibility, then transferred to SAP for further processing.
  • This two-way data flow is fully automated and requires no personnel to administer it.
  • The ergonomic user interface is browser-based and only requires Java and Adobe Flash Player.

Access Control SAP

Kaba SAP Access Control allows you to integrate the management of access control units and access terminals straight into SAP so that you can assign access authorizations in SAP. Integrated access control gives you precise answers to the following questions:

  • Which employee has access to which facilities?
  • On which weekdays does the employee have access?
  • At what time of day does the employee have access?
  • Time profiles, access grids, and special days will help you to define and change your employees' access rights quickly and easily. You can group the Kaba terminals in zones at your discretion. This forms the basis for collecting the access profile that consists of one or several zones, and the time profiles. When assigning the access profile to a person, access authorizations are checked again for consistency at the terminal. This enables errors to be almost entirely ruled out.

    The master records containing the authorizations are sent to the terminals, are stored there locally, and thereby safeguard off-line operation.

SAP CATS

Kaba's interface for SAP CATS provides you with an optimized flow of registered data to the relevant target module in SAP (HCM, CO, PS, PM, CS, SD). All the work is registered just once. Redundant data is not stored. The CATS error handling for SAP ERP is included in the basic module.

  • Employees register their time data or order data at the Kaba terminals or via a web terminal.
  • The Kaba module calculates the time spent and reports this to CATS.
  • Working times are therefore collected at a central point (SAP CATS module) together with cost centers, activities, projects, and orders. They are then transferred to other SAP modules for further processing.
  • Optional software modules are CATS Absence Registration and CATS PP-Interface. They expand the range of possible applications for SAP CATS.

Software modules for shop floor data collection

These optional modules deal with functions that are not provided within SAP ERP, but are required by companies in their daily operations. The solution's modular architecture enables you also to use the modules individually.

All our additional modules are run straight from your web browser and don't need to be installed on your computer. The registration screens on the modules are modern, clearly presented, and user-friendly. The user will find the application fast and intuitive to use. All the modules are available in many languages – a key benefit for international companies.

Changing Orders

  • This function makes your order registration easier and more convenient because active orders from PP, PM, PS, or CATS are automatically terminated when a new order is started. This most notably reduces the amount of time spent registering short work processes.

Automatic Reporting on Standard Operation

  • This allows you to automatically register the "unassigned times" of an employee. The unassigned times are added to an overhead order which is created for the particular employee. You can specify the time from which unassigned times should be calculated. If the employee exceeds the specified period between their arrival and starting a job or between finishing a job and starting their next one, the non-productive time is added to the defined overhead order. This allows idle times to be automatically classified and "filled" with an activity. This allows you to ensure maximum concordance between the recorded order time and the amount of time that the employee was actually present.

Automatic Start, Interruption, and Completion of an Order

  • With this module, Kaba closes the gap between HCM and SFDC, because a time registration booking can be used by your employees to automatically start or end the last order they processed. If an employee books an interruption (for when they start their break, for example) the order in progress will automatically be paused accordingly. This module minimizes the number of entries you make, saves you time, and reduces the number of erroneous entries. This further simplifies data feedback.

Group work

  • With the group work software option, Kaba b-comm ERP 5 enables simultaneous or subsequent login for one or more steps for several employees. A differentiation is made between dynamic and static groups during this process.
  • For example, in the case of dynamic creation of a group, all group information is registered directly on the terminal. Employees can be added to or removed from the group at any time.
  • If there already needs to be a fixed group assignment with corresponding allocation of roles within a group, this can be carried out in SAP. The corresponding settings are transferred to Kaba b-comm ERP – SAP ERP via the HR interface and considered during the group booking. Quantity messages can be provided as an individual message or overall message, e.g. when the last employee leaves the group.
  • Integration into the multiple order and multiple machine operation software option optionally provided by Kaba and into time synchronization is also possible.

Collective Entries

  • This solution enables the user to confirm times and quantities for an existing order group quickly and easily. Order packages can be compiled for each employee and workstation. This facilitates the registration process and avoids erroneous entries. Several collective packages can be registered for each employee. The orders can be taken from the SAP modules PP, PS, and PM and the registered data is automatically sent back there.

Multiple Machine Operation and Multiple Order Processing

  • Developed by Kaba as an extension for the SAP modules PP, PM, and PS, this solution uses registered time events (start/end) to record the amount of work required to operate multiple machines and process multiple orders. It calculates a net time for various activities, such as working time, machine time, set-up time, etc., and generates time tickets according to individual specifications. Even when processing multiple orders, whereby several orders are processed by a single person using one or more machines, the working time can be allocated to various categories. Break times can also be automatically deducted in accordance with the SAP duty roster.

Time Reconciliation

  • This module retrospectively checks reported order times against the presence time of one or more employees. The period for adjustment can be set using the parameters. An SAP module provided by Kaba calculates the adjusted times in the background and then sends the adjusted times straight into the PP module. The Kaba module Multiple Machine Operation is required to make this time reconciliation. You can benefit from the direct integration into the SAP time management system.

TRS WebTerminal SFDC

  • The TRS WebTerminal SFDC allows employees to register and cancel operations from their PC workstation. This application is therefore a sensible add-on for your PP, PM, and PS modules. It can be used to enter orders straight into a screen and report it to the Kaba b-comm ERP 5 system. Collective entries, update reports for orders, and paperless registration are also possible. The system manages and processes the registered data in the same way as data recorded at stationary terminals.

Simulation Tool

  • This testing tool simulates your unique data registration and feedback process, thereby helping you to simplify your test procedure for implementation, release updates, or extensions. The various "registration scenarios" can be predefined as "use cases" in Excel and then run automatically. The registration dialogs can either be simulated in real time or run in "direct mode".

Further modules for time registration and access control

Visitor Management

Visitor Management is a module used for visitor and contractor management. Independent of Microsoft Dynamics AX, it allows you to generate and manage badges and visitor passes.

The module provides:

  • Advance registration of visitors by the relevant employee,
  • Registration of visitor data once a visitor enters the premises,
  • Management of visitor badges and creation of visitor passes,
  • A clear overview of present and absent registered visitors
  • Badge management for contractors, e.g., cleaners and service providers
  • Combination with access control.

Attendance Board

The color-coded presence overview indicates at a glance which employees are present and absent. The module always provides the most up-to-date information on the presence status of your employees. For example, this overview can be used by the staff on switchboard to give correct information at all times. The attendance board provides the basis for the roll call. In the event of an emergency, the system presents rescue teams with lists of names and information as to the most recent whereabouts of missing persons.

Supervisor HR

This model allows supervisors to register, correct, and approve HR bookings before these are transferred into the ERP-system. Only after approving the data are the bookings loaded. This prevents errors from entering the ERP-system and saves you from having to make laborious adjustments. It also allows the supervisor to keep track of their employees' bookings.

WebTerminal

The WebTerminal allows you to register your presence and absence times quickly, simply, and intuitively on your PC. By default, you will have the same colored function keys as those found on stationary registration terminals. The WebTerminal can also be configured to suit your preferences. You can create your own functions and symbols, as well as your own background images. Employees are shown their time records and personal time accounts. When combined with Kaba ESS, supervisors are informed by email of any changes to bookings. This saves you from having to register these changes manually in your ERP-system and therefore reduces overhead costs.
