Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, is a stylish hotel that forms part of the Marriott International group. Located in the heart of the Brera district, close to the renowned Teatro alla Scala, it is an authentic expression of the city’s unique spirit. Designer Patricia Urquiola put a fresh twist on the rationalist architecture of Pietro Lingeri’s original building by adding contemporary elegance and deluxe materials such as Fior di Pesco marble and walnut timber. dormakaba’s role was to provide secure, functional access systems that would complement the hotel’s architectural style.

Integrated access with smart locks and designer door handles for a luxury experience
Casa Brera chose dormakaba to equip the building with a sophisticated access control system that combines security, convenience, and an esthetic that blends perfectly with the overall design. Patricia Urquiola combined Quantum Pixel electronic locks for hotels with elegant Olivari designer door handles, enabling intelligent and secure management of access to the rooms and the fitness center. Using digital credentials and integrating the locks with hotel domotics systems means that guests can also gain access through their smartphone, transforming every hotel stay into a seamless, state-of-the-art experience.
- The system also includes SR readers for access management in the hotel’s elevators, guaranteeing control and traceability in every area.
- The internal doors are designed by ZANINI S.p.A. and fitted with ITS 96 door closers, which feature invisible slide rails.
