The EGGER group is a family-owned company operating throughout the world. Since 1961 the by-now over 7,200 employees have been making more out of recyclable wood. Within one year the new modular-design management building was erected with company products at the headquarters in Sankt Johann. Since its completion in March 2015 the modern building provides a total floor space of almost 9,000 m², 276 workspaces and 48 training spaces, an employee restaurant and an underground garage.

The customer’s requirement for dormakaba

  • Contemporary and functional access control
  • The highest level of company security combined with minimal administration costs

dormakaba’s solution

In an innovative building like the new headquarters of the EGGER group, modern and functional access control plays a big role. That’s why EGGER is the first company worldwide to have installed the new dormakaba EACM access solution. The pilot project includes eleven online access readers and five access control units. Here it wasn’t only the innovative solution that impressed but also the modern design of the access components.

All the access permissions are managed directly in the SAP module Organisation Management and are therefore an integral component of business operations. From defining access profiles to assigning permissions to issuing or retrieving access media, all online access management is carried out via SAP. This way the users at EGGER can continue using the familiar SAP interface and don’t have to learn a new system.

In implementing this security concept, the EGGER group also profits from dormakaba’s extensive product portfolio, consisting of mechanical and electronic locking systems, access readers and automatic door systems. Additionally, 110 electronic c-lever compact door fittings have been installed, which are operated using the already-available Mifare media. These were merely recoded, so that they can continue being used and no new media have to be purchased. Additional project steps planned are the integration of the electronic door fittings and attendance recording in Kaba EACM.
