When facility managers at Ohio State University (OSU), one of the nation’s largest campuses, set out to build a new state-of-the-art recreational facility, they undertook one of the largest, most complex college facility projects in the country. Their search for components that balanced outstanding durability, accessibility and high aesthetic value led them to select a variety of products from dormakaba Architectural Hardware.
Ohio State University selected a variety of products from dormakaba Architectural Hardware to meet the rigorous demands of the Recrea - tion and Physical Activity Center. A recreation center this big has a lot of pedestrian traffic to manage. Ohio State’s campus houses roughly 50,000 students. And the center isn’t exclusively for students: it’s open to the public and faculty as well. This results in over 5,500 people using the facility every day or nearly 300 per hour.
