DORMA-Glas GmbH will strengthen its market position under new investment of Aliante Equity Tre S.p.A.

Aliante Equity Tre S.p.A an industrial holding with global presence in the Design and Furniture business has signed an agreement to invest in dormakaba’s interior glass business. The strategic investment of Aliante is an important acquisition to further develop its activities in the global office partition and furniture business. This transaction will enable DORMA-Glas to grow to full potential outside the dormakaba group exploiting the industrial synergies brought by Aliantes portfolio companies. The deal includes the transfer of dormakaba’s global interior glass solution products, a manufacturing site, and selected sales units in Europe. The transaction includes all 235 employees, who are currently part of the DORMA-Glas GmbH in Bad Salzuflen.
Milano, August 2021– Aliante Equity Tre S.p.A an industrial holding with global presence in the Design and Furniture business has signed an agreement to acquire dormakaba’s interior glass business.
As a pioneer in this sector with business activities in Europe, Middle East and North American markets, Aliante has built up a worldwide industrial platform made of several D&F portfolio companies, such as Muraflex, Mangini, in the healthcare segment and Faram, with a global presence that complement the IGS business and offer commercial and vertical integration opportunities. By leveraging to the support of a long-term pace investor as Aliante, DORMA-Glas GmbH will be able to drive its business.
In particular, the strong Aliante’s interest in DORMA-Glas GmbH is based on the vision to create a world leading manufacturer of fittings for interior glass systems and demountable office partitions, which could leverage the strengths of the Company and interact successfully with the other companies of the Aliante constellation.

DORMA-Glas GmbH will remain operationally and commercially autonomous, mainly in the DACH area as well as potential central European countries with the idea of preserving and increasing the value of the brand and the reputation of the Company. DORMA Glas will stay the reliable industry partner with full competence, premium quality products and market orientated delivery performance.
The deal includes the transfer of dormakaba’s global interior glass solution products, the Dorma-Glas GmbH manufacturing site in Bad Salzuflen (Germany), and selected sales units in Europe. The transaction will include 235 employees who will be taken on.
Giorgio Guzzetti, Aliante Senior Partner, says: “We will provide a more structured focused platform to fully develop and exploit the interior glass business, with potential at product development, R&D and commercial levels”.
Andreas Tiedtke, designated CEO of DORMA-Glas and current responsible Senior Manager for the product cluster stated: “The alliance with Aliante will allow us to drive our interior glass business with strategic growth initiatives in dedicated markets, and a comprehensive product portfolio. Especially the complimentary product lines of Aliante’s portfolio companies Faram in Europe and Muraflex as the second player in the North American partition wall business, will provide us synergies with our UNIQUIN glass partition system and open up additional market opportunities for sustainable growth.”
The business represented net sales of 45mCHF in fiscal year 2019/20 and shows good financial performance. Both parties have agreed to not disclose further financial details of the transaction. It is expected to be closed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
