The Confidant RFID for ESM mortise lock cases is uniquely designed to provide an effective solution for retrofit or new construction applications with or without replacing a property’s existing lock case and inside door hardware. The Confidant RFID door lock offers RFID technology to enhance guest convenience and improve operational efficiency. The RFID solution offers keycard auditing capabilities for enhanced staff monitoring & user accountability. The Confidant RFID is easy to use and works with ILCO and Saflok systems (including Messenger Lens). The lock is able to operate using the dormakaba Mobile Key System and can be offered with one of the following options: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) ready or enabled.
The Confidant RFID comes in a variety of kit options:
Confidant RFID Kit 1 includes outside lock housing only
The Confidant RFID Kit 1 is a plug and play RFID upgrade solution with an outside lock housing only, compatible with third party mortise lock cases.
Confidant RFID Kit 2 includes outside and inside lock housings
The Confidant RFID Kit 2 is an upgrade to include the inside and outside lock housings while remaining compatible with existing or third party mortise lock cases.
Confidant RFID Kit 3 includes outside, inside lock housings and BMH 801 lock case
The Confidant Kit 3 offers a full package with a complete door hardware installation for existing or new construction properties.
The Confidant RFID is easy to use and works with ILCO and Saflok systems (including Messenger Lens). The lock is able to operate using the dormakaba Mobile Key System and can be offered with one of the following options: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) compatible, ready, or enabled.
Confidant RFID Kit 1, Kit 2 and Kit 3 for ESM Mortise lock case are not available in North America.

Mechanical Features
- Outside Housing: Ergonomic RFID reader with target to guide user. LEDs for visual feedback. Panel that conceals lock batteries (3 alkaline AA type) and programming interface.
- Inside Housing (Kit 2 & Kit 3): Field reversible levers (only short return levers). Privacy turn knob (optional)
- Locking Option (Kit 3 only): BMH 801 lock case
- Levers: Available in short or long return designs. Outside lever free to rotate upward and downward in locked mode. DIN compliant levers (optional)
- Standard Finish: Satin chrome or satin brass
- Batteries: 3 AA batteries for up to 50,000 openings or up to 3 years
- Door Applications: 35mm - 55mm Minimum backset: 40mm or more. Wood or metal, hollow or solid. Rosette mounting option eliminates the need for drilling (retrofit scenario)
- Online Configurations (Coming soon, Saflok only): Messenger Ready, Messenger Online
Hardware Configurations

Mobile Key Options (BLE)
- BLE compatible: Standard Lock. Upgradable to BLE by adding BLE connector cable, end cap and BLE module (available for Saflok systems. Coming soon for ILCO systems)
- BLE ready: Upgradable to BLE by BLE module (coming soon)
- BLE enabled: End cap with BLE module included, no further upgrades needed (coming soon)

Confidant RFID Kit 1
- Accessibility Standard: ADA compliant levers (Code of Federal Regulations 28 CFR Part 36 – 1994 “ADA Standards for Accessible Design”)
- Fire Rating: Complies with EN 1634-1 (30 minutes). Approved Compliant door and lock case must be used
- Electronics Compliant IEC 61000-4, FCC Part 15 and Industry Canada RSS-210. CE R&TTE Directive 1999/EC
Confidant RFID Kit 2 & Kit 3
- Accessibility Standard: ADA compliant levers (Code of Federal Regulations 28 CFR Part 36 – 1994 “ADA Standards for Accessible Design”)
- Industry Standards : Complies with EN 1634-1 (30 minutes). Complies with DIN 18273 with DIN lever handles. Complies with EN 179 with DIN or long return lever handles and with BMH 801 lock case (applicable to Kit 3 only). Approved compliant door and lock case must be used
- Electronics Compliant IEC 61000-4, FCC Part 15 and Industry Canada RSS-210. CE R&TTE Directive 1999/EC
