Festival season is almost here

As the summer months edge closer, one thing is certain across Ireland and beyond, festival season is almost here. While we may never be able to guarantee sunshine during an Irish summer, we can certainly guarantee an incredible line-up of festivals, events and cultural celebrations taking place across the country and throughout Europe.

From music and arts to culture and community, summer festivals bring people together in unforgettable ways. They create shared experiences, showcase creativity, support local economies and attract visitors from around the world. Ireland, in particular, has become home to some truly world-class festivals that continue to grow in popularity year after year.

One standout event on the summer calendar is Beyond The Pale, taking place from 12th–14th June 2026 amongst the stunning surroundings of Glendalough Estate in Co. Wicklow. Combining music, art, food and wellness experiences, the festival has built a reputation for offering something truly unique. Beyond The Pale blends boutique festival experiences with nature, creativity and community, delivering an immersive atmosphere for festivalgoers looking for much more than just live music.

For those drawn to the coast, Sea Sessions continues to be one of Ireland’s most exciting summer events, taking place in Bundoran, Co. Donegal from 19th–21st June 2026. The festival perfectly combines live music, surfing, beach sports and laid-back summer energy. Its seaside location creates a festival atmosphere unlike any other, attracting visitors from across Ireland and overseas every year.

Another hugely important cultural celebration is Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, which takes place in Belfast from 2nd–9th August 2026. Recognised as the world’s largest celebration of Irish music, song, dance and culture, the Fleadh attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, with musicians and performers travelling from across the globe to take part in competitions, street performances, concerts and cultural events. The festival plays a vital role in preserving and celebrating Irish heritage while creating an electric atmosphere in every host city.

Meanwhile, Galway International Arts Festival returns from 13th–26th July 2026 and remains one of Europe’s leading arts festivals and a cornerstone of Ireland’s cultural calendar. Featuring world-class theatre, music, visual arts, street spectacles and thought-provoking discussions, the festival transforms Galway into a vibrant hub of creativity every summer. With nearly 50 years of history, it continues to place Ireland firmly on the international cultural stage.

Behind every successful event, however, lies something that attendees may rarely think about — security, safe access, and seamless movement of people. As festivals continue to grow in size and complexity, ensuring that venues remain secure, accessible and safe for everyone has never been more important. From controlled access points and crowd management to reliable entrance systems and secure infrastructure, creating safe environments is critical to delivering positive experiences for organisers, staff and visitors alike.

At dormakaba Ireland, we understand the importance of trusted access and security solutions in high-footfall environments. With expertise across secure access, entrance systems and integrated security technologies, we help organisations across Ireland create environments that are safe, efficient and welcoming for everyone. As another exciting festival season approaches, we’re proud to support the spaces and venues that bring people together to celebrate the very best of Irish culture, music and creativity.
