Meet Daniel Wright – Supporting Automatic Entrance Projects Across the North West & Scotland

Can you tell us about your role as Vertical Solutions Sales Lead – Automatic Projects & Service Sales?

I work with customers across the North West of England and Scotland, supporting the delivery of automatic entrance solutions for a wide range of construction projects. My role involves working closely with main contractors, glazing fabricators, curtain walling specialists and the wider supply chain to specify the right products for each application. From swing and sliding door operators to revolving and curved sliding doors, I help customers find solutions that meet both the practical and aesthetic requirements of their projects.

What types of projects and customers do you work with most often?

Most of the projects I support are large-scale commercial and public buildings where automatic entrances play an important role in accessibility, safety and the overall user experience. I regularly collaborate with contractors, façade specialists and project teams from the early design stages through to completion, ensuring the entrance solution is right for the building and the people using it.

What do you enjoy most about helping customers deliver successful automatic entrance solutions?

For me, it's all about understanding what the customer is trying to achieve and finding the solution that best fits their needs. Every building presents its own challenges, so it's rewarding to see a project come together knowing the entrance will provide reliable, trouble-free operation for many years.

What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone planning an automatic door project?

Don't think of the entrance as simply a way in and out of a building. It's one of the first things people experience, so it's worth investing the time to get it right. Engaging with dormakaba early in the project means we can help identify the most suitable automatic entrance solution, ensuring it delivers the right balance of performance, aesthetics and long-term reliability.

When you're not supporting customers and projects, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Away from work, you'll usually find me on the golf course, whether that's competing in local events or enjoying a round with friends and my partner. I'm also a big fan of discovering new restaurants around Manchester and making the most of weekends exploring somewhere new.
