Dorma from Germany made inroads in the Middle East market in early 1970s. Looking at the boom of the region and the need for high quality & reliable products, Dorma started their own operations in 1996. Starting as a four man operation, Dorma grew up to 300 employees spread across GCC.
Being one of the first multinationals in the field of door hardware, entrance systems, interior glass systems & movable walls; Dorma immediately became the preferred partner for Architects & Consultants, clients in the burgeoning building industry. This helped us give a footprint in almost every iconic project in the region from Burj Khalifa to Al Faisaliyah Tower, Qatar Convention Centre, all major airports amongst many others.
Kaba headquartered in Switzerland, started their operations in Middle East in 2005, focusing on access control, physical access systems (turnstiles, speed gates etc.) and master keyed systems.
The two companies announced the merger in April 2015 creating a new industry leader – dormakaba and becoming one of the top three global companies for security and access solutions, with pro forma sales of over CHF 2 billion (EUR 1.9 billion). dormakaba Gulf FZE - the Middle East & Africa head office is located in Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
dormakaba boasts a truly regional network of dealerships, agencies and wholly-owned companies with presence in almost all major cities in the Middle East & Africa.
The merger has opened excellent opportunities for customers to source a new comprehensive range of products and services from a single source thanks to complementary portfolios, value chains and geographical presence in all major markets globally.
The strong German & Swiss backgrounds created the footprint for a power new brand offering of Smart and secure access solutions from a single source.
