As we step into the month of May, dormakaba is proud to announce our participation in Mental Health Awareness Month. In collaboration with MIND Hertfordshire, we are dedicated to encouraging open conversations, promoting mental well-being, and supporting those affected by mental health issues.

Why Mental Health Awareness Month Matters

Mental health is an integral aspect of our overall well-being, yet it's often overlooked or stigmatised. Mental Health Awareness Month serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of prioritising mental health and breaking down barriers surrounding mental illness.

Events and Activities

To kick off Mental Health Awareness Month, dormakaba is organising a series of events and activities aimed at educating, engaging, and empowering our community:

1. Charity 5K Run/Walk: Our employees are encouraged to lace up their trainers and take part in our charity 5K run/walk. This event not only promotes physical activity but also serves as a symbol of solidarity in supporting mental health initiatives. All proceeds will go towards MIND Hertfordshire.

2. Talk by MIND Hertfordshire: Our Hitchin employees will gain valuable insights into mental health issues through an informative talk provided by MIND Hertfordshire. We will learn about the importance of mental health awareness, early intervention, and destigmatisation.

3. Training Sessions: We will aim to empower ourselves with knowledge and skills by participating in training sessions facilitated by MIND from our Hitchin office. These sessions will focus on mental health literacy, self-care strategies, and supporting others in times of need.

4. Breakfast Morning: Start your day off right with a nutritious breakfast and engaging discussions surrounding mental health. Connect with peers, share experiences, and enjoy a sense of community in a supportive environment as we lay on a breakfast morning at our Hitchin office.
