dormakaba supplied full hardware specification for Netcare Alberton
dormakaba SSA is proud to have been part of the Netcare, Alberton project. Full hardware specification locks and door closers such as the TS92 EMF GSR hold open door closers were used extensively in all the passages of the hospital. dormakaba as the supplier of choice has a proud track record of supply to the healthcare sector locally and globally. The Netcare Alberton project was one of the largest hospital specifications done in Gauteng by the dormakaba architectural department. The project consisted of 34 automatics (ES200 manual system), 11 manuals which can easily be upgraded to automation at a later stage as well as over 2500 doors installed by dormakaba.
The hospital has been developed by the Rejem-Linton-Netcare Joint Venture, a joint venture consisting of Netcare Properties, local businessman Riaan Jonker and Nedbank. The project included substantial investment in local labour and businesses, and at the peak of construction, offered employment to more than 800 local people, while more than 90 local companies were utilised, and in excess of R200 million was spent with local businesses and suppliers.
dormakaba partnered with A3 Architects, Trencon Construction, Profica Project Management and Quantity Surveyor, O’Mahoney Peel Rooney. The project has been successfully completed and the handover is currently in progress.
