New Deputy Vice President for dormakaba South Africa
Multi-national security group dormakaba has appointed Craig Luck as its Deputy Vice President for Sub-Sahara Africa with effect from 18 January 2021. Additionally, he will be taking over from Shaun Frayne as the Managing Director of dormakaba South Africa who will be taking up the role as International Key Accounts Manager.
Previously, Luck was the Managing Director of Modrac, a computer and data Centre OEM based in Sandton, for more than 10 years before joining ICT solutions provider Alviva Group in Midrand as Divisional Director. Subsequently, Luck managed his own business which specialised in the supply of the entire spectrum of turnkey systems and management solutions within ICT Infrastructure.
He brings with him more than 20 years of senior business experience at local, international, and privately owned organisations in South Africa across a range of relevant industries. These include ICT hardware, software, and infrastructure, as well as physical access control.
In his capacity as Deputy Vice President, he will leverage his sales and management experience as well as his technical background to drive the Sub-Sahara Africa business towards profitable and sustainable growth. He will also focus on growing the local team and building the organisational capability and culture necessary to deliver strong results.
“We are excited to have someone of Craig’s experience and passion join the organisation and drive the business in Sub-Sahara Africa. His skillset is ideally positioned to target the rapidly evolving operating environment that companies must face today,” says Barry Conway-Cleaves at dormakaba.
Luck holds a Master of Business Administration from Stellenbosch University and a National Higher Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy from Vaal University of Technology.
“I am excited to join an international brand such as dormakaba and be involved in an extremely dynamic industry. The company is already very well positioned and with the team we have, I hope to drive our business to even greater market position.”
