DORMA Accessories for Terminals and Access Control Boxes
With their up to two independent bus subsystems, DORMA access control and time recording terminals not only control and monitor card readers, but also additional components that are required to realise more complex applications. The DORMA software allows system configurations at any time.

Two configurable RS 485 bus networks (DP1 and DCW) as well as PHG Crypt allow flexible wiring of bus components with cable lengths of several kilometres.
S6 Door Module
In addition to standard card readers, there are door modules. These modules control the signal evaluation and the opening cycles of the the individual doors via a relay from the security area. Door modules are ready for installation in the System 55 switch range and therefore perfectly harmonise with the building's overall architecture. However, they are also suitable for concealed mounting.
S6 I/O adapter
As an alternative, door modules can be used as I/O adapters in a housing for surface mounting and are ready for installation in the suspended ceiling or hollow floor as required. As the relay is located in the close range of the door or the power supply, only short cables are required.
The I/O-9/8 module is used to control elevators or turnstiles in complex access control environments.
Digital inputs send the current I/O status to the host access control terminal (B6L, M6L). The terminal activates the relays after the data has been evaluated. An I/O 9/8 Module is also suitable to pool/group the signals of several doors so that no separate door modules are required.
S6 keypads are used for numerical entries such as PIN codes.
M6D online terminal
Although the M6D resembles the M6L, it is a DP1 periphery component like the S6R card reader - but in an attractive housing with display and keypad. With an external M6D unit, B6L access control terminals can also be used for time recording.
The M6D online terminal sends bookings via the DP1 bus to the B6 or M6 terminal, where the data is processed. The display gives feedback like the time balance or other information.
XS Traffic Point
The XS Traffic Point links online components (XS Cylinder, XS Fitting and XS Reader) with DORMA B6/M6 Terminals.
Components that are linked via the XS Traffic Point operate like wired components. An XS Traffic Point can communicate simultaneously with up to 8 XS components. The XS Traffic Point monitors XS components and allows "alive" checks. It furthermore provides coded and authenticated communication in the 868 MHz ISM band.
Reader Interface (RI)
Also the reader Interface (RI) is an example for DORMA's open-system strategy. The Reader Interface allows connecting card readers from other suppliers, such as far range readers, to DORMA Terminals.
Terminal Multiplexer (MUXD)
DORMA's Terminal Multiplexer extends the bus system to a star layout. The MUXD allows operation of up to 30 time recording and access control devices over a distance of several kilometres per stub.
This extends the DP1 bus by factor eight and considerably reduces the installation effort. In addition, you can often use existing cable routes. The point-to-point wiring in star layout makes the system fail-safe.
The LANRTC establishes an Ethernet (LAN) connection for two-wire terminals with RS485 interface end ensures proper communication between the terminals. LANRTC supports the full TCP/IP protocol range. In order to optimise the migration of existing systems, you can combine terminals with TP3 and TP4 protocol as they operate as standalone systems.
PC readers - USB and AoC
With the aid of the USB PC reader, you can read ID cards and allocate ID cards to staff members or visitors.
USB PC readers do not require an individual power supply.
In conjunction with MATRIX, TIMAC and IPEV access control systems, AoC (Access on Card) allows allocating one-day authorisations to ID cards. The AoC PC reader is authorised like a S6R card reader. The system acknowledges and records the respective booking events.
Glass front cover
The design front cover for readers and terminals is perfectly suitable to realise special terminal solutions. With a glass surface on a plastic carrier, the glass front cover conceals the cut-out for the card reader in metal sheet constructions.
19" power supply unit
The power supply unit in its 19" housing, with a system height of only one height unit, is used as central power supply unit for access control terminals and periphery equipment. As an option, the system is available with a rechargeable battery buffering of 24 V (floating) to ensure the uninterrupted power supply of all connected devices (in preparation).
The inclined housing is especially suitable for devices with low installation height, as it facilitates the operation of M6 or L6 terminals. Especially disabled people will benefit from this feature. The inclined housing can also improve the readability of the display in case of bad lighting conditions, and provides sufficient space to stow the connection cables.
As an option, the inclined M6 terminal housing is available with an integrated 230 V power supply unit or PoE (Power over Ethernet).
